2013 IWLA Distinguished Service and Leadership Award

The International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA) presented its 2013 Distinguished Service and Leadership Award to Jere Van Puffelen, CLP, president of Prism Team Services Inc. of Danville, Calif. The award was announced at the group’s annual convention in Orlando.

The Distinguished Service and Leadership Award recognizes outstanding leadership and service to IWLA and to the warehouse-based third-party logistics industry as a whole. The association chose Van Puffelen for his many years of contributions and service to the industry, as well as his integrity and leadership, IWLA said.

In addition to his service as a member of IWLA’s board of directors, Van Puffelen is known as a mentor, adviser, and contributor to the warehousing industry’s professional development and networking organizations. He is also a respected San Francisco Bay-area business leader.

Van Puffelen has been involved with IWLA since the mid-1970s. He served on three convention planning committees and is a member of the organization’s Political Action Committee. He served on the board of directors and the executive committee, and as chairman from 2009 to 2010. In addition, Van Puffelen is a Certified Logistics Professional, a designation for warehousing practitioners who meet specified standards for education and service.

The International Warehouse Logistics Association serves warehouse-based third-party logistics companies by providing its nearly 500 member companies with resources, information, education, and professional programs designed to advance their businesses and provide greater value to their customers.
