PRISM Logistics Promotes Arely Velazquez to Facility Manager, Stockton, CA
We’re excited to announce the promotion of Arely Velazquez to the position of Facility Manager at our Perlman Road warehouse in Stockton, CA.
Arely grew up in Colima, Mexico where she attended the Universidad de Colima. She received her degree as an Analyst Programmer in 2004. Soon after that she moved to Stockton, CA. with her oldest daughter Casandra. She enrolled in adult school classes to improve her English skills and worked at various fast foods jobs. She was promoted quickly because of her computer skills but was being asked to work 6-7 days a week. She wanted to spend more time with her daughter and applied to staffing agencies.
She originally came to Prism in 2005 for a temporary assignment to help unload damaged flour loads. Within days she was asked to join Prism in our production area. She demonstrated quickly via her work ethic that she was special. Within months she was moved to a receiver and then to the damage area where she helped create spreadsheets to improve the daily reporting. Her supervisor saw her spreadsheets/notes for improving the process and asked her to move to the office to become a CSR.
She moved into the office in 2006. She would spend her free time asking to be cross trained on other accounts. With her computer skills it didn’t take her long to learn the systems. She took it on her own to refine the work instructions and processes for each of her accounts. She was promoted to office lead for her ability to cover all office positions. Along with her wonderful people skills that garnered her respect from her co-workers and customers, her leadership skills and attention to detail has given Prism the opportunity to continue to see Arely grow and progress within our team.
She was promoted to Customer Service supervisor and has been instrumental in developing a positive work environment that has led to greater productivity. Arely can best be described by her own words about how she approaches each day, “I feel there is always a chance to improve, to learn a different way by making the co-workers feel the same way and are part of something. You spend 8 hours daily at work, why not make it a better place to be. Not every day will be perfect, but today is a good day to learn something new and grow.”
We look forward to her leadership and management of the team in our Perlman 1 facility. Please join us in congratulating Arely on her promotion and wishing her continued success at Prism.
